2500 High elves...tournament style

so. i need to decide on a few things. im bringing some archers now. and have the phoenix guard to basically hold banner of sorcery and maybe a level 2.

Archmage - silver wand, forliaths, shadow

same as before, want to keep the forliaths for now because of its situational uses.

level 2 mage - seer staff, death

probably pick purple sun and soulblight, although doom and darkness may have its uses (im looking at you, beastmen)

Noble - bsb, gw, armour of caldedor, dawnstone

35 spearmen - fc

13 archers - musician

13 archers - musician

21 Swordmasters - musician

14 swordmasters - musician

10 pheonix guard - full command, banner of sorcery

5 dragon princes - musician, standard, banner of ellyrion

5 Ellyrian Reavers

overall i think ill have the same problems against ryans wood elves. but hopefully this will be a well oiled lizard killing machine. o you have a slann? take this initiative test TWICE A TURN BABY. i wonder though, is the phoenix guard too small? I mean if someone thinks its a tasty target for shooting and magic that is freakin awesome because then they aren't hell cannoning my swordmasters. and you got to have two units of them to make them focus on one.

I was thinking that the Pheonix Guard are too small, but you can't buff up too much without losing other things.

13 archers? 6X2 =1? Just weird. I guess the one still gets volley rule if you do it that way. 5X2 is a waste of an archer

just how the points worked out. i could do 12 and 14. i dont think i need anymore than 35 spears...6x6 with a noble in there is enough. then max out the rest of core w archers and that puts me at 626

plus im not going to be super aggressive with the phoenix guard. maybe use them to bait some stuff but mostly just to hold banner and mage

I think the addition of at least something shooty is a good idea. Having no shooting is bad for almost every army.

Initiative test? meh.

Just don't roll any sixes.

i dropped some reavers and some magic items. but i think now im going to try a unit of 10 DP.
