Baller and I played Sunday. Blood and Glory scenario at 2500. Breaking point was 3; Baller had 6, I had 5. My list had a few tweaks, so I'll list it below:

Slann - Life, 5 spells, +1 dice, enemy mage ignores 6s
Old Blood - 2+(rerollable)/4+, poison
26 temple Guard
29 Saurus
2x10 skinks
25 skink cohort
2x6 chamo skinks
2x2 salamanders
Ancient Steg

I deployed the majority of my army as far left as possible(had to deploy 9 inches away from edge), my 2 Saurus blocks wedged between a Sphinx and tower. The skink cohort and one unit of sallies protected their right flank, with a unit of skinks in the tower and the Steggie deployed so he could run up the left flank. The rest were deployed on the right side of the board, taking advantage of a water feature and another tower.

Directly across from my saurus blocks were 2 units of swordmasters, 1 unit of dragon princes, phoenix guard and sea guard. His 2 mages and 1 BSB were intermingled in those units as well. Holding the rest of the line were a couple units of archers, 2 eagles, another unit of dragon princes and some reavers. I think. I won the roll to go first.

Turn 1 - I moved everything up a little bit. Dwellers reduced his sea guard by 15 with an irresistable. I had Throne on, so the miscast was ignored. Shooting killed a few reavers

Baller moved up very aggressively. I don't think much happened. Magic was ineffective. He got Purple Sun off but it missed everything. Shooting put 1 wound on my salamander nearest the saurus. I miss anything?

Turn 2 - We realized that war beasts can go in buildings, so my skinks abandoned the tower and my sallies took up residence. I rolled 3 for power dice, so I dispelled purple sun and left it at that. Shooting was pretty good. I got a couple wounds on the sea guard with my sallies, but they held. My steg unleashed 12 shots on ballers eagle and got 1 wound. Blech. My skinks on the right killed 3 of 5 dragon princes.

Baller charge my sallies with his reduced unit of dragon princes, small enough to fit in between my two units of skinks now. He also charged by Sallies in the tower with his swordmaster of death. He suicide ran his mounted Lvl 2 behind my saurus. Everything else continued to move up toward my saurus blocks. His eagle perched right in front of my Temple Guard. Magic is ineffective. I'm not sure if anything got off that turn. The dragon princes were reduced to one, but broke my sallies, though they could not run them down. The Swordmasters killed a sallie and every skinkalink crew member. Being in a tower near my slann, the sallie was steadfast ld 10. He did not run.

Turn 3 - I declare charges! Has Hell frozen over? Temple Guard charge the eagle, Saurus charge the dragon princes, Steggie charges the sword masters. All are successful. My fleeing sallies stop running. Dwellers sees 10 dead in the other sword master unit, uncluding his BSB. I try to get +4 toughness on my steggie, since sword masters of death are scary, but dont get it. My sallie spouts flames on the phoenix guard with Archmage, who proceed to panic and run away. I think my skinks on the right kill the last dragon prince, can't remember.

My Temple Guard's combat is first. The bird explodes into a pink mist, giving me a direct shot at the flank of the dragon princes engaged in combat with my Saurus. The Saurus, Old Blood and Temple Guard make short work of the Dragon Princes, taking a wound in the process I think. The ancient kills 5 with impact hits, the proceeds to take 3 wounds from the sword masters. His attacks plus thunder stomp kills another 3-4. They flee off the board. Temple Guard and Steggie reform, Saurus attempt to overrun into archers 12 inches away. They fail.

Baller puts his suicide lvl 2 behind my temple guard and gets off the small version of Purple Sun. It proceeds to hit 12 Saurus and 17 Temple Guard. 10 Saurus die, and only 3-4 Temple Guard die. It might have been more. Regardless, I was rolling 2s like a beast to save my poor little Temple Guard. His phoenix guard rally. Shooting kills some skinks??? His sword masters attack my sallie in the tower but we forget to resolve it. Baller was happy to get off purple sun and just went ahead and called the game.

so sad. ive been good and patient with all the games ive played (against matt and philip).

i shouldn't have abandoned my normal (and successful) gameplan...but my hatred for the lizards runs too deep. i really @*#*%)^ hate them.

hindsight w/ your deployment i should have pitted/sunned the ancient first and then surrounded your two infantry units. and killed them and won.

i have also made some necessary list tweaks.

We would use the initiative of the riders, right? I forget how that works. If so, then the steggie has Initiative 4.
